Under the ACCORD Initiative, a number of projects have been identified as having outstanding potential for generating growth in the Capitale-Nationale region

Technopôle Defence, Security, and Emergency Preparedness (TDS)

By bringing together Canadian businesses, universities, and research centers, Technopôle Defence and Security fosters the adoption of innovative technology for the defence, security, and emergency preparedness markets. These strategic partnerships will allow for the startup of three key projects: the Technology Integration Center, the Market Intelligence Center, and the Defence and Security District.

The National Institute of Digital Entertainment (ENDI)

The National Institute of Digital Entertainment (ENDI) is located in downtown Québec City in the Saint-Roch district. ENDI is a unique opportunity for students to receive training in videogame development with outstanding instruction from videogame industry professionals.

The Health Food Consortium

The Health Food Consortium is an organization of agrifood entrepreneurs from the Québec City metropolitan area. They share contacts, cutting edge technology, applied knowledge, and specialized workers to foster the development, production, processing, and marketing of healthy foods.

Devtech

Devtech is a regional business development strategy for applied technology in the form of a five-year program to support technology entrepreneurs and meet the demand for qualified national and international workers. Devtech encompasses several initiatives, including an international recruitment mission, financing round, high-level professional development workshops, and the Étincelle and Devtech 50 competitions.

Cercle de l’Industrie Optique-Photonique

A project that aims to position the region as one of the world’s major optics-photonics hubs through business development, innovation, and human resources training.

Centre d’excellence de l’industrie du géospatial

A project aiming to highlight the region’s status as a world-class center for geomatics and geospatial applications expertise.

Centre de développement en assurances et services financiers

Centre de développement en assurances et services financiers aims to foster connections between insurance and financial services and educational institutions in order to create 3,000 new permanent jobs over five years.

40 New Research and Development Chairs at Université Laval

These new chairs created in association with the ACCORD Initiative provide an outstanding opportunity for Université Laval to develop high-level research and development programs, attract and retain outstanding researchers, and to put its members’ wealth of skills to work for the benefit of society.
