Traffic and parking restrictions

Hosting Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec will mean significant traffic and parking restrictions in Old Québec and on Parliament Hill, the Plains of Abraham, Boulevard Champlain, and Côte de la Montagne.

From 9 a.m. on Friday, September 8 to 10 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, driving and parking will be prohibited on Grande Allée Est between Cours du Général-De Montcalm and Avenue Honoré-Mercier.

On the day of the event (Friday, September 8) between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., no driving will be allowed on circuit roads, and there will be no parking on these roads after midnight the night before.

Traffic will also be affected and parking prohibited on certain neighboring streets.

The City recommends that motorists plan their trips in advance and follow the temporary detour signs posted for the event.

Getting to Hôtel-Dieu de Québec

Do you have an appointment at Hôtel-Dieu on September 8? Would you like to visit a relative there? Make your life easier—take one of the free shuttles provided especially for you by RTC from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Temporary stops will be located in front of Gare du Palais and at the main entrance to Hôtel-Dieu. You can park nearby ($) at Gare du Palais or the courthouse.

To drive to Hôtel-Dieu de Québec, use the point of crossing in Zone 1 (in French only). The entrance is on Rue Saint-Nicolas. You can use Côte Dinan or Rue Richelieu to exit the zone.

Points of crossing for the circuit

During Grand Prix Cycliste some roads will be closed to pedestrians and drivers. Access to areas inside the circuit by car will be especially restricted.

Your only car access to zones inside the circuit will be via special points of crossing in each of the 10 zones. Police will be posted at these crossings.

To find out where these are located, consult the Crossing Points document (PDF) (in French only) or the General Route Map (in French only).
