Payment methods

1. Online

On the City of Québec website

Payment methods: Visa or MasterCard

You may pay your ticket online if it was issued by the city of Québec, L’Ancienne-Lorette, or Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures or by Réseau de transport de la Capitale or Communauté métropolitaine de Québec.

On the sites of participating financial institutions

You must have on hand your ticket and a valid credit card (Visa or MasterCard). Only full payment will be accepted.

Payment under a payment instalment agreement or for cases that include seizure by a bailiff or for civil or criminal cases cannot be made online. Please select another payment method.

If your driver’s license has been suspended by Société d'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ), you must pay your tickets online. However, you must wait 3 business days for your case to be processed by SAAQ after payment has been made. If your license is already suspended, you must not drive and no vehicle registered under your name must be driven. You are responsible for ensuring that SAAQ has lifted your license suspension.

    The reference number you will be asked for during your transaction is the 14-digit ticket number found on the upper portion of the ticket reply form.

2. In person

At municipal court service centers

Payment methods: Cash, debit card, cheque, Visa, or MasterCard.

Go to one of the municipal court service centers during business hours.

If your file involves suspension of your driver’s license or your transaction right at SAAQ or if you have had a cheque returned due to insufficient funds, you may not pay with a personal cheque. Only certified cheques and money orders will be accepted.

At the counters of ATMs of participating financial institutions (Desjardins and National Bank of Canada)

Only payments made within 30 days following receipt of a ticket will be accepted.

Be sure to provide all information regarding your ticket number.

3. By phone

Payment methods: Visa or MasterCard

Call 418-641-6179 and be sure to have the ticket and a valid credit card on hand.

4. By mail

Payment methods: Cheque, certified cheque, or money order

Send the reply form with a cheque or money order payable to the City of Québec to the address indicated. Allow time for transmission and processing of your file.

If your file involves suspension of your driver’s license or your transaction right at Société d'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ), you may not pay with a personal cheque. Only certified cheques and money orders will be accepted.

Please allow 3 business days after your payment arrives at our office for processing if the matter involves SAAQ. If your license is already suspended, you must not drive and no vehicle registered under your name must be driven. You are responsible for ensuring that SAAQ has lifted your license suspension..

5. By pre-authorized payment

This method applies only to payment agreement (In French Only) instalments.

Total payment = Pleading guilty

If the court receives your total payment and you have not entered a plea, you will be deemed to have pled guilty.

If you plead not guilty with or without payment, any amount sent will be considered a deposit.
