Paying tickets online: 5 easy steps

Before you pay online, please allow 24 hours for online payment to be authorized after a ticket is issued.

Be sure to have on hand:

  • Your ticket number
  • The date of the offence
  • A valid credit card issued by visa or Master Card*.

*Please note that debit cards are not accepted.

Step 1 – Finding a ticket

Please allow 24 hours for online payment to be authorized after a ticket is issued. You must fill in all the fields that appear on the screen.

If you cannot find your ticket number, see the various ticket templates which will indicate where to find it.

If you have lost your ticket, please contact the municipal court registry staff.

When you have filled in all the fields, click on Search.

Tickets that are not payable online

The payment system recognizes tickets that are not payable online. If you cannot pay online, please contact the municipal court registry staff.

Step 2 – Information about the offence

Information about the offence will be displayed. Please verify that it is the correct offence.

You must fill in all required fields regarding your identity in order to make a payment. If you have another ticket to pay, click on Add a ticket to do another search. When you are ready to pay your tickets, click on Go to checkout to complete the transaction and pay the fines.

After this step, your tickets will be added to your basket.

Step 3 – Basket

The basket allows you to see which tickets were added in the previous steps.

If you make a mistake, you can remove items from your basket by clicking on the icon that appears in the last column.

If the information contained in your basket is correct, click on Pay.

Important : Only Visa and Mastercard credit cards are accepted.

Step 4 – Payment

At this stage, you will be directed to the City’s service provider website. You must provide the information requested: cardholder’s name, card number, and expiration date.

You may also include your email address to receive an electronic receipt as payment confirmation.

Warning: As a security measure, the online payment site is no longer compatible with the Windows XP operating system. To complete your transaction, you must use a computer with another operating system: Windows 7 or later, or Mac OS.

Step 5 – Transaction confirmation

Once your payment is complete, you will receive a payment confirmation from the City of Québec website. If the payment confirmation page does not appear, please contact the municipal court registry staff.

Transaction accepted

If the transaction is successfully completed, the details will be displayed and an authorization number will be generated, indicating that your ticket has been paid. We urge you to print a record of the transaction as proof of payment.

Transaction declined

If the transaction is declined, a message will appear detailing the reason the transaction failed. There will be no charge to your credit card.

Please note that if the transaction is declined, the file will remain open.
